Amy Carter is a versatile midcourter and the current captain of Manchester Thunder.
Amy came up through the Thunder Pathway and made her Super League debut in 2018, and is able to play across C, WD, and WA, offering tactical flexibility.
In her rookie season she impressed with multiple Player of the Match performances and went on to be part of Thunder’s 2019 league-winning squad.
In 2021, Amy suffered a serious setback when she ruptured her ACL, ruling her out of the 2022 season both domestically and internationally.
Showing resilience and determination, she returned to full fitness by 2023 and steadily re-established herself as a key figure in Thunder’s line-up.Â
Ahead of the 2025 season, Amy was appointed captain — a reflection of her leadership, commitment, and growing influence on and off the court.
Internationally, Amy has represented England at U17, U19, and U21 levels and moved through the Futures system before earning her senior Roses debut at the 2020 Netball Nations Cup. She has since featured in England A fixtures and been part of the senior squad in series such as the Taini Jamison Trophy.
Off the court, Amy balances her netball career with her training as a medical doctor, having studied medicine at the University of Manchester.
